I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.
I am riding in honor of my nephew, Colton Ward, who was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) at the age of 18 months. He received treatment and was pronounced in remission. Then, a few months later, it came back. He and some of my family had to temporarily move out of state to get to the best facility for his treatment. He eventually received a bone marrow transplant. This got rid of the Leukemia, but he will always be dealing with lifelong side effects as a result. He is 22 years old now. His treatment and survival is all as a result of research and facilities that are funded by things like Pedal the Cause.
Please support my efforts by donating to my fundraiser, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will fund lifesaving cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
