I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. PTC is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a celebratory movement fueled by the courage to end cancer. I experienced this celebration first-hand last year when I participated in my first "Pedal the Cause" event. This movement is passionate about finding cures for cancer. Last year I rode on behalf of my brother-in-law who was about to have a bone marrow transplant to stop the onset of leukemia, and on behalf of my son-in-law who had just received a diagnosis of prostate cancer. I am happy to say that under the care of the BJC Siteman Cancer Center, both are well on their way to full recovery!
This year I'm asking for your support again! My wife's sister was recently diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma, a rare cancer of soft tissue and involuntry muscles. She underwent surgery to remove the cancer and we were hopeful that she was cancer free but, sarcomas have re-emerged and she is now preparing for chemotherapy at the BJC Siteman Center.
Last year, due to your generous response to my request, we raised over $1,300. I ask for your generous financial support again! I've upped my game this year, having ridden at least 100-miles every week (with one exception) since the beginning of February 2024. So far I've ridden 2,935 miles. I'm training to ride the Pedal the Cause "Century Ride", 100-miles in one day, on 22 September 2024. My training has included numerous 50 and 60 miles rides, and three (so far) 75-mile rides. I hope to get in an 80 mile and a 90 mile ride before the event!
Please support my efforts by donating to my fundraiser, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will fund lifesaving cancer research at BJC Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Thanks! Patrick
