One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. On March 20, 2023, I became that one. Following my regular mammogram, I was diagnosed with Stage II Invasive Lobular Carcinoma. Last year was my hardest ride yet considering I was only five weeks out of radiation - but I was thankful to be alive it was important to me to continue my fight as LIVING PROOF.
My fight continues in this, my ninth year of involvement with PTC. Cancer is the ultimate thief. It steals from your emotions, your health, your time, and your plans. It affects those that love us. I do not want to see another friend or loved one have to fight the battle that I and so many others have, or are, enduring. I feel incredibly blessed that I have been able to receive treatment from Siteman - a top ten ranked center right here in St. Louis. Others are not so lucky, and must travel great distances to receive the care they need and deserve. My medical and radiation oncology teams are the BEST! Each and every person I've encountered has been caring, compassionate, and treats me as a person (not just another statistic).
If you feel as strongly as I do about this fight, please join me in donating to the cause. Know that 100% of your donation will go directly to cancer research right here in St Louis (Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital)!
Let's fight for a cure together! Thank you for your support.
