I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer, which is the 2nd most common cause of death in the U.S. About 40% of men and women will be diagnosed with cancer at some point during their lifetimes. That being said, less than 60% of people survived five years after initial diagnosis, and today, that percentage is about 67%, with many more people now living well past the age of 65. This is why bringing awareness, lifting up survivors and loved ones that have lost their battles to cancer, and investing in research is so critical.
Personally, I ride for my grandmother, Christine Jones, who transitioned to heaven October 2023 after her battle. A childhood friend, Jasmond Williams, who we lost (and heaven gained) in January 2022.
