I ride for Pedal the Cause because it is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.
But this year's ride has a special meaning for me...
As some of you may know, last year was a difficult year for my friends' and my family. His dad and mine were both diagnosed with cancer. Today, my dad is getting better thanks to surgery and chemotherapy, but sadly, in April, we had to say goodbye to my friend's dad, leaving an empty hole in our hearts.
I could never emphasize enough on how important it is to keep fighting and developing therapies and strategies against cancer.
And that is why today I am asking for your help to support my efforts by donating to my fundraiser, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will fund lifesaving cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
As a postdoctoral researcher at WashU, I personally know some of the researchers funded by Pedal the Cause and I can tell you that they are 100% committed to the cause.
