At Pedal the Cause 2024, I will be celebrating NINE YEARS cancer free. Growing up with a huge family and adding to it every day with friends from the restaurant, I've been supported by so many people on this journey. I'm hoping you will consider donating to Pedal the Cause so that future generations can be cancer free. All the money goes towards local, cutting-edge cancer research.
I am blessed to have so many generous friends who have supported me in past years for cancer research and even more during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have been fortunate to raise over $30,000 in the past few years for Pedal the Cause. Additionally, The Family Table Initiative, created by my kids, raised enough funds to donate over 28,000 meals to The LINK Market and the St. Louis Area Foodbank during the pandemic for families in the St. Louis region.
Here is a little bit about PTC. I think they do a great job. Since 2010, PTC has raised $45,811,439 million, funding 224 innovative cancer research projects at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital. These are LIFESAVING projects. AND, because they are early-stage projects, they can draw an average of $7 of federal funding for every $1 of funding provided by PTC. Even better--every penny of your donation will directly support a research project at Siteman or Childrens. None of your money supports the race or PTC operating costs.
By donating or supporting PTC events, YOU are moving the needle towards new treatments, preventions and cures by donating to this event.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me through my treatment and recovery. Thank you for being a part of my life, and for joining me in building a world without cancer. Come and visit my family at Sunset 44 in Downtown Kirkwood next time you have the chance, and consider attending our wine tasting fundraiser on September 4th. More info about the wine tasting is at sunset44.com/events and to donate go to: Bob Menendez - Pedal the Cause (givesignup.org)
Many Thanks, Bob
