I ride for my son Liam. I ride to remember him, to keep him close to my heart. I ride to keep his spirit alive. Liam had the biggest heart and knew no stranger- he was a son, brother, nephew, grandson, cousin, and friend to so many. He is greatly missed. Liam was diagnosed with Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma when he was 9 years old. He fought an 18-month battle with this relentless cancer. All through his treatment he smiled through the pain and never gave up. He had hope that we would one day beat this. I ride to continue his battle fighting cancer so that one day we do beat this beast. This will be our 3rd year riding in Pedal the Cause- 2 and a half without our courageous Liam. We created the team Liam's Wheel Wizards as a tribute to him because of his love of biking and Harry Potter.
I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.
