My family knows first hand what hearing the c-word can do to you. My brother at sixteen years old was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia. It shook our entire beings. At the time of his diagnosis, he was told he only had a month to live. He started chemotherapy within the first 24 hours. He fought for two long years and beat this awful disease. Without the help of Children's hospital, I am not sure my brother would be here today, cancer free. A few years later, my father, was diagnosed with throat cancer. We never thought in a million years we would have to fight again. Thankfully, the doctors and nurses at Barnes rallied around him, developed one of the best treatment plans around, and helped him beat cancer. Without the support of these two hospitals, our family might not be able to participate in such an important event.
We are beyond proud to be Pedal participants and ride with our two survivors. Please help our family help others fight cancer. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer. Please support my efforts by donating to my fundraiser, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will fund lifesaving cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
