Why I ride began on December 25, 2010, when I learned our son Scott had a brain tumor. The medical professionals at Siteman Cancer Center did everything medically possible to extend his life and make it as normal as possible. My ride has continued each year because he invited me to ride. The one difference is now I ride for many of you and your family members. Over the 14 years there have been so many family members and friends that contracted cancer. We have lost some, some are living with it, others are now in remission. There have also been significant improvements in treatment, but more await discovery. Therefore, I continue to ride each year in hopes of a breakthrough.
Each dollar contributed to a Pedal the Cause rider goes to cancer research. Not the flashy, headline kind of research but the startup projects that are the seeds which produce future treatments. Whatever you can contribute is appreciated. If you are currently unable to contribute you are in our thoughts.
