While there are too many stories of those that lost their battle with cancer, like my Uncle and Aunt, there are also stories of survival, and the individuals who were able to beat the disease. While this is always an uplifting outcome, it's not the full story. We don't talk enough about the long-term implications of cancer treatment, like neuropathy, "chemo brain," and the ongoing mental health challenges of living with a past diagnosis. It sucks that the best option we have now to beat cancer... is to poison our bodies. I'm riding because I know the research at Siteman and other organizations is focused on a better path forward. One day we'll cure cancer completely. Hopefully even sooner, we'll find better treatments. Join me in supporting the cause to make that dream possible, and to honor all those living with the ramifications of cancer treatment (Kevin, Margaret, Marshall, Cindy, Brooke, and so many others).
Hugs!
