I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.
I’m personally involved because in October of 2012, I was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. I completed 6 rounds of R-CHOP chemotherapy, followed by radiation therapy. By the grace of God, I just celebrated ELEVEN years in complete remission! I was not directly treated by the Siteman Cancer Center, but my oncologist consulted with the experts there to fine-tune my diagnosis and treatment plan, so I'm a big fan of Siteman and a believer in the work they do.
While I'm now enjoying the blessing of living cancer free, the story doesn't end well for too many. I'm riding in memory of my aunt Sherry, my cousin Jody, and my friend Scott McMillan who have lost their struggles with this terrible disease. I'm also riding in honor of many others who are fighting bravely right now.
Will you help me in this journey to find a cure by donating to my ride? My goal this year is to raise $2,500. You can give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will fund lifesaving cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
