Pedal the Cause

I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease in 2000, It was a tough journey back for me.  I have had family members who fought a tough battle with Breast cancer: My mother Elva Sladek  and Sister Elaine. I miss them both dearly.  I had a friend Kathy Francis, who I met during my cancer treatments. She helped me to be strong, she was getting chemo treatments to live longer.  She was always so happy and positive.  She taught me how to appreciate life.

I have seen cancer strike friends I grew up with, coworkers, running, cycling, and triathlon friends.  Some are doing really well now, but others not as well from this horrible disease.  That's why I ride and exercise every day in memory and honor of them.to end cancer.     

I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.
